Pinehurst is known for holding the U.S. amateur golf consecutively for the longest time. The good news is, the championship is returning to Pinehurst in 2019 for the first time since 2008 and the third time since its inception. It is in Pinehurst that Danny Lee won the Amateur trophy and was declared the youngest golfer to scoop the Amateur award.

Pinehurst No. 4 and Pinehurst No. 2 will be used for 2019 National championship. Donald Ross designed Pinehurst No.2 and named it “the fairest test of golf.” This course is well known for its rolling greens, which are one of the hailed in the world. On the other hand, Pinehurst No. 4 was redesigned by Gil Hanse, and unlike Pinehurst No. 2, the course is surrounded by a native wire and has a natural topography and exposed sand.
